My girlfriend has a what looks to be a blood blister on her inner thigh, it is about the size of a dime and it is very tender with slight swelling around the area, do you have any ideas as to what it may be?
She is 18 years old her height is about 5' 8" and she is about 220 she had staph infection a couple of years back and I am worried that it never went away
Your girlfriend would be having cherry angioma..also called De Morgans Spot. There is proliferation of capillaries in the dermis. It may be hereditary. There may be some associated diseases like DM,endocrinal diseases, dyslipidemias, obesity, gentic factors..etc. You take her to dermatologist for consultation. After thorough examination and investigations, he would come to particular diagnosis. If it is cherry angioma , then not to worry,as it is a harmless condition. However, I do remove it in my patients by electrocautery under local anaesthesia. It is a minor procedure done in OPD. I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
