What Causes Blood Blister On Salivary Tract?

i am have a blood blister growing in size on the right saliva tract , about mid way the length of the tract -- there is no pain , it is the size of a large green pea -- it is resembling a purple- blue blood clot under the thin pink layer of inner floor ( of the mouth ) directly under the saliva tract -- this is the second time it has occurred-- i eat sushi ( i do not know if this is important , as it did not appear prior ) --- it is not a saliva stone as for as i can tell from research i have been conducting -- this time the blood clot has remained for the past 3 months -- any help is greatly appreciated -- thank you for your time

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain a pea sized painless bump growing along the salivary duct that is blueish purple in color can be a mucocele that is formed due to traumatic injury to the duct of the salivary gland leading to ruptured duct of the gland and accumulation of mucous into the soft tissues leading to formation of a mucocele..
It is mostly a self limiting condition..
You can do concentrated salt water rinses for regressing the lump..
In case if the lump does not regress or there is recurring episodes then consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and he can do a clinical examination and also advise x ray or MRI of the gland and treatment can be planned accordingly..
Surgical correction can also be advisable..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
