Hello,
You are on needle birth control, you get spotting for a day every three months. Presently, you got your periods and a large blood clot with white lumps on it. The birth control shots contains the hormone progestin. Progestin stops you from getting pregnant by preventing ovulation.
Pregnancy can't happen as eggs in the tube don't form. It also works by making cervical mucus thicker to stop the sperms from entering. The white lumps in the blood clot may be cervical mucous, but it can be indicative of infection. You are suggested to take care of your hygiene. Wash your private area whenever you visit washroom.
Do not douche your vagina, do not use scented soap, lotions or toiletries. Avoid self pleasuring and use of sex toys, avoid sexual activity for a couple of days. You will start having periods as your hormones adjust with the changes, if you are suffering from
fungal infection or BV, you ca take antibiotics after consultation with a gynae. Stay away from
anxiety and
stress. Avoid addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
