Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had something similar only I was going down a ladder on a pier. My hands gave and I fell flat on my back against the sand, felt like concrete. Anyway I was extremely sore yesterday and couldn t have a bowel movement. Today I did and their was blood at the end, I take anticoagulants?
It will be very rare that you will have blood in stool after back injury unless and until it is severe and caused some local injury to the anal canal.
As you said you have anticoagulants or some NSAIDs to get relieved from this pain which could be the reason of your blood.
But here I do not think there is anything to worry as this has happened for one time ,so no need to bother much as it may get subsided by itself.
However, in case it does not then you will require some tests like blood count, stool examination and ultrasound abdomen to rule out any Identifiable cause.
You can take symptommatic treatment meanwhile like analgesics and mafenamic acid available over the counter.
