What Causes Blood In Stool After Appendectomy?

Hi Thursday night of last week I had an Appendectomy. My appendix was wrapped around my Ovary. I have had no pain and was walking about 30min after I came out of recovery. Every thing was going good. I still have no pain! However yesterday and today when I poop there is a good amount of blood. Should I be concerned or is that normal?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, the blood in stool is from the intraluminal problem of the intestine, which can be
- acute constipation
- a side effect of certain drugs
- others.

Need to consult your surgeon immediately.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
