Hi Doc 3 days ago I had a very very hard stool. The next day I noticed theres a blood coming out from my anus while boweling or sometimes when I pee. I am so worried about this. The blood is red and always fresh and it stained a linear shape on my stool. What would it be?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
The most common and obvious cause is hard stool and obstipation which may cause tear in anal mucosa and consequent bleeding. This should pass when stool become soften. To do this, you need to drink more fluids, eat fruit and milk products laxative may be helpful in severe cases. If bleeding recur after this, then some other causes may be considered and include hemorrhoids, anal fissure or rectal polyps. This is best evaluated with proctoscopy and then further treatment can be planned. If you are older than 50 and never done colonoscopy, you should do this in order to check whole colon and rule out some more serious isses. Also, red blood count check should be done I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you good health.
