What Causes Blood In Stool Post Laparoscopic Surgery?
My father 85 had a ECRP and the gall bladder remove laproscopically. He was to go home next day after the surgery and started to throw up and pass black blood in his stool. The hospital kept him. Next day they found that he is bleeding. went in and stopped the bleeding. next day had fluid in his lungs, oxygen low. put him on oxygen finally had to put him on the ventilator. he started to bleed again...again stopped the bleeding ...after sometime his oxygen level went down, blood had too much acid...Dr said that they cannot do anymore for him and he passed away... what went wrong...
1.could be because of pnemonitis /pleuritis as a complication of surgery 2. passing blood /black stool could be because of some blood oozing or leaking through some bloog vessel after clipping /ligation 3.rest coarse seems to be because of complication of lung infection and finally respiratory system. 4 all seems to be complication of surgery, rare but possible
