What Causes Blood In Stool While On Norflox?

hello my son 17 years old has been suffering from diahorea since 5 days and today there is sennd red blood in stool and doctor suggest me to take norflox 500mg for 5 days and he had already taking protogyl df . should he has to take antibiotic or not ? Thank you Rabita

Thank you for querry,
There are several condition that cause bloody stool in young age its due to infection like shigella or dysentry most common.
E.coli infection also cause bloody diarrhea.
if such patient came to me with such symptoms i suggest stool culture for proper diagnosis,
without stool culture both aerobic and aneribic bactarial cover required.
norfox is good for enteric infection
along with T.Flagyl 400 mg thrice a day for 5 days.
supportive medication like antacid,ORS,hyoscine
and soft diet also needed..
