What Causes Blood In Stool?
3 Weeks ago my husband has had a bloody stool every time he has a bowel movement and this lasted about a week. The doctor prescribed him prilosec and carafate and the bleeding has stopped. Now today he has had another bloody stool but now stopped. Can you help me as in what may be the cause of this problem?

K I understood the issue ,1stly u need to tel clearly hw is the bleesing per rectum ...like blood is follwed by stools or mixed with stools ...if its followed with stools thn probably causw may be some hemorrhoids or fistula ,but if stools mixed with blood thn we meed to further evaluate nd with tht I want to kw few more things like thr is any weight loss ,fever nd decreased appetite ...with tht u need to consult a surgeon for if the blood is followed with stools or if its mixed thn go nd consult a gastroenterologist ...he wil advice few blood tests like CBC ,ESR,CRP,sr CREATININE ,LFT,TSH.so rather thn taking the tablets plz try to follow my suggestion for betterment of symptoms ...hope u got a clear idea of the on going disease ...thank you
