hi ..my husband is getting blood in his stool....he took isopgal husk powder and cremaffin syrup...for about 1 week..his health was fine ...and again after 1 week again he is getting blood in his stool....can we know the reason...and is this serious...
Blood in stool can be due to: 1) Local bleed or 2) Bleed from up above.
Local bleed is associated with frank, fresh blood. Is it associated with pain? Irritation? If yes, it indicates external piles.
Bleed from up above can be due to numerous causes. Does the blood splash out with each stool output? If yes, indicates an underlying serious condition and you might need to see a gastro specialist right away! Either way you need to be investigated by a scopy.
