Yesterday morning, I received the depo provera shot and this evening, I noticed bright blood in the stool and the toilet. I checked and the bleeding was not from my vagina. Is this a cause for concern or should I wait to see if the bleeding is persistent?
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Depo shots doesn’t cause blood in stools or gastro intestinal bleed. It could be due to something else like an undetected hemerrhoids. If the problem persist better to consult a gastroenterologist and get a colonoscopy done to rule out conditions like hemerrhoids.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
