Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello sir, pls help me and my child s problem... hello sir, pls help me and my child s problem is stool seen with blood and diagnosed may be due to constipation and straining when he passes his stool and that results in anal tear. my son s age is two years. what will be the reason for this. doctor prescribed laxopeg powder.
As you said that your son is having constipation, which is a very common problem in kids, he might face a little tear while passing hardened stools. this might seem like a brigh red colour streaks on stool.
Another cause of blood in stool can be dysentery , but here the blood won’t be bright red and also will be quite foul-smelling. This is caused due to infection.
He might have a fever and stomachache along with this finding. So the best way to cure constipation is to add more fiber in his diet and also at the same time keep a check on hydration. He should be drinking plenty of fluids.
In case you suspect dysentery, please consult your doctor for antibiotics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
