What Causes Blood In Stools While Having Diarrhea?
Hi, I just had 3 bits of diarrhea in the past two hours or so. The last two have had bright red blood mixed in with the stool. Should I go to the emergency room? I'm 19, around 6' even, and weigh anywhere between 165 and 180(It's been a while since I weighed myself).
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. 3 bits of diarrhea having blood in stool in the last incidence indicates one of the following: Since you have diarrhea the most probable cause can be inflammatory edema and ulceration in the4 colon or rectum giving fresh blood in stool. Hemorrhoids. This can be diagnosed by the following: Get an opinion of your Doctor for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations of stool and blood. A course of an antibiotic active against intestinal infection, metronidazole with probiotics should help solve your problems. Also take supportive and symptomatic treatment as may be needed and advised by your Doctor. If the is no complete relief then you obviously need a colonoscopy and biopsy and further management.
