I am 40 year old women,suffering from this disease(blood in latrine) from last 2 months .Before 1 month it was just like ok(no blood came from latrine) but the 2nd month proved very harmless to me.I saw the blood coming from latrine i am so worried about it and please give me some suggesions and please tell me it is because of any summer season or can it can cause cancer ? please reply urgent.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. At the age of 40 it is important to see for the actual cause of bleeding per-rectum. The causes can be hemorrhoids that is piles as is called in common language, fissure in ano, polyps, ulcers, cancer as you have mentioned. Hence I would advise you the following: Clinical evaluation and examination and per-rectal examination by ano-proctoscopy. Also get an appointment for colonoscopy. Once the cause is found the treatment can be planned as per the cause. Till then get the blood, stool tests to see if you have developed anemia. Ultrasonography of abdomen and CT scan if there is any positive finding. High fiber diet. Sitz bath in a tub with warm water.
