Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Blood In The Stools Post A Colonoscopy?
Yesterday I noticed that I had blood in my stool. Stool was not dark in color but blood was present. I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy procedure two months ago and two or three small polyps were removed and were benign. Could the bleeding be from where one of the polyps was removed?
First of all it is necessary to confirm the blood-stained stool because the color of stool may be due to diet taken it may not be blood itself. Again, if this is the history of rectal or intestinal polyp then better to confirm the presence of it but prior to this stool needs to be sent for lab test to confirm the presence of blood.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain
