What Causes Blood In Urine After Holding It For Long Time?
My Fiancée (Male) is a pilot and was flying after drinking to much coffee and almost wet himself before he could get to the bathroom... When he did go pee, there was blood in his urine. Is it just from holding a very full bladder for to long? Or is there something to be concerned about? He pee'd a second time and there was still blood in his urine. Please give me any information you have. Greatly appreciated.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Presence of blood in urine is because of injury to kidney or bladder. Holding for long wont cause or wont result blood in urine. Whether it is dark colored urine or really blood in urine needs to be evaluated.
Go for complete urine analysis, in that if red blood cells are present in the urine, then ultrasound abdomen has to be done to rule out any stones in the urinary tract.
My suggestion is please consult general physician with the report (only if abnormal) for more suggestions.
Hope my answer will help you.
