What Causes Blood In Urine In Children?
hi, I am a mother of an 8 year old little girl. She has started peeing blood strings and white snot for about 1 week and a half. We have token her to the doctors and we have had an ultrasound of her kidneys and bladder. All came back fine and negative of any infection. It isn t getting better. At first it was like every other urine had blood and now every time she using the bathroom there is blood in the urine. It does show blood in the urine test but no infection. She also has hardly any pain. If she does have pain it s in her back where her kidneys are at but it doesn t stop her from playing. She has no fever either. The ultrasound does show matter in her bladder, the doctors told us that it was blood. I m very worried for her.

As an Urologist, i can fully understand your concern.
A common problem causing blood in urine is, nephrotic syndrome.
She'll need to have specific tests for knowing the cause for the problem.
1. Blood routine, creatinine, LFT,RBS,platelets,BT,CT,PT,prothrombin time,s.proteins with A/G ratio,HbsAg,and uric acid.
2. urine routine and culture, and urine-ACR(albumin-creatinine ratio).
3. CECT (contrast CT-IVU scan).
With these reports,an Urologist can get an idea of the cause and advice treatment. If you want my expert opinion,send reports as a direct question.
