What Causes Blood In Urine When Diagnosed With Bladder Infection?
My husband had a bladder biopsy done 6 weeks ago. He was diagnosed a year ago with a bladder cancer of a low malignancy potential but had a few spots that showed up thus the biopsy. Since the biopsy everything was going well. Two days ago he was diagnosed with a bladder infection and given antibiotics. Today he peed bright red. How soon should he be seen again? Ore what shouldd he do?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If there are no clots in the urine, you should not worry. Bleeding after a biopsy is normal. If your husband is on anticoagulation therapy, he could stay off them for a few days. If the bleeding continues or your husband feels ill (dizzy, faint, tired, experiences palpations, looks pale) you should see a doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
