What Causes Blood Stained Vomit?

Hi, i am a 26yr old female who is not pregnant as far as i know but it is possible as been trying for a few months. My query is: last night i went out with my partner and we had a meal, nothing unusual i ate, had a few casual drinks, nothing unusual, then i felt really uncomfy and threw up and there was bright red blood in it, i would say majority of vomit was blood. I was sick 3 times in a row, and then nothing. i feel ok now. why would this happen?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Is it dark colour blood? Pssibility of esophagitis or peptic ulcer disease or Mallory Wei's tear etc.

Util examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast for one week.

Please get one upper GI endoscopy and Consult your gastroentrologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
