What Causes Blood Traces In Nasal Discharge After A Reconstructive Surgery?
my son had reconstructive surgery last summer (17 year old male) on his nose to correct football injuries-several breaks...the day after thanksgiving he was playing football with some friends and took an elbow to the face-upper cheek/eye. He had a black eye and the white part of the eye was red for a couple of weeks and he had a cut on his cheek...now every time he blows his nose, dark blood is coming out in the mucus. I am worried he has damaged his nose again even though it looks fine. He says it feels like there is 'pressure' under/behind his eye-the eye looks normal now-no redness in the white area anymore-just the blood in the mucus and pressure under/behind his eye. Thoughts? thank you...
hi. there may be small injury to nasal mucosa which lead to bleeding . this gets clotted and with sneezing it comes out . use xylometazoline nasal drops twice daily for 5 days. if bleeding is more u should use BOTROCLOT drops and after that get examined by ENT surgeon
