Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I carefully read your question and understand your concern.
If you are blowing the nose forcefully for a long time it might happen to have some bloody mucus come out. The blood vessels in the nose are at the surface and pressure like can happen when forcefully blowing them can cause trauma and make them bleed.
If your nose feels blocked are different causes for this also like a viral infection that you might be going through and this might cause blocked nose for a week or two- it is advisable to make sure you drink plenty to keep your self hydrated and also avoid dry air in the enviroment. Saline solution 0.9% is helpful to use in the nose to clear secretions and keep mucosa wet and can be used like mild nose lavage few times a day to help with blocked nose. Vase line cream might be help if applied in the entrance of the nostrils in small amounts.
If the blocking of the nose goes on for longer than two weeks, allergic rhinitis might be a cause and over the counter antihistamines like loratadine or cetirizine might be a help to take at night.
And lastly remember: it is not advisable to blow the nose forcefully, it is traumatic and might cause bleeding.
If no help with the above measures you should see a doctor and have further evaluation and treatment.
Hope this is helpful and answers to your question.
