What Causes Bloody Mucus In Stools?

I just passed a fair amount of clear mucus with bloody specks in it. I was having cramping, felt like something pulling on my belly button from the inside with abdominal cramps, when I went to the bathroom the mucus was in my underpants. I had a upper and lower GI done about a month ago, nothing was wrong but a few polups.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

When colonoscopy is non-conclusive, the most likely reason sounds here for mucus discharge is intestine infection.

There is best approach for further care with stool culture report if not done till now.

Do give me further chance to assist in future.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
