What Causes Bloody Stools After An Abdominal Injury?

Just now after using the restroom I have several bloody stools. Today I was pulling a cut branch out of a tree while working, and it jammed into my lower right stomach area (hard). Could this be related? Should I be alarmed? I have never had bloody stools before. I am a 25 year old male.
