Hi, I hope you can. My Mom is 84 yrs.old. She has COPD, kidney failure and heart problems. My question is, her feet are turning blue and she has one toenail on each foot that has black spots on it. She is on oxygen at home. Should I be concerned?
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Feel turning blue means cyanosis and improper oxygenation and oxygen delivery . As she z already a copd patient. Some cyanosis will be there. Just check her hemoglobin levels and also saturation of oxygen z sufficient or not. And correct hemoglobin levels with iron tabs. If saturation z falling below 85 percent she might need ventilator also.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
