What Causes Body Pain And Feeling Of Coldness In A Diabetic?
Hi, I am a 65year old male and have been a type2 diabetic for many years. The last couple of days in the mornings and evenings I have had aches and pains all over my body coupled with feeling cold even though the temps are in the mid to high teens celcius. I dont think I've strained anything.
Hi, thanks for posting the concern in HCM. Chills and generalised body ache in a known elderly diabetic need evaluation for any infection in the body, may it be in the lungs or in the urinary tract or elsewhere. Any form of inflammation can trigger such constitutional symptoms. Furthermore, fluctuations in the blood glucose levels and any other endocrinological problem may cause similar symptoms. Therefore, the following tests are needed 1. Complete blood count, CRP, ESR, urea, creatinine, electrolytes, LFT 2. Fasting sugar and HbA1c, fasting TSH 3. Urine RE You should get clinically examined by a local physician and if needed chest xray may also be done. In case you have any other questions, please write back. Regards Dr Kaushik Sarkar
