What Causes Body Pain , Sore Throat And Fever?

Hi doctor! I have recently had scarlet fever like symptoms; fever a couple of days back, sore throat, body ache, now ive developed a swelling on my face and throat for three nights now accompanied by small white spots with a white centre, itchiness all over my face and rough skin behind my ears. Could I caught scarlet fever from my daughter?

Hi dear ,

As per your query you have sore throat along with body pain , fever , swelling on the face . The symptoms you mention in query are pointing toward a condition like viral . Well this goes away in few days by its own . But if it is getting worse then consult ENT specialist for proper checkup . Doctor may order blood test , viral culture test and throat swab test to confirm the diagnosis and rule out causes like scarlet fever or strep throat as you mention in query . Doctor may prescribe anti viral drug , decongestants and mucolytic agent . . For now do warm saline gargles and take steam .
