Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my mother, 76 had a cardioversion today, her physical ability had already deteriorated until she could only walk a few steps before the cardioversion. Post cardioversion and she has definitely deteriorated much further, one step makes her hugely breathless and she can barely stand. She is exhausted by everything. Is this likely to be short term? What could potentially cause this? Many thanks

What Causes Body Weakness And Walking Difficulty?
Hello, I think she would have had cardioversion for Atrial fibrillation, and before doing that the doctors would have made an ECG, a cardiac sonography . I do not think this is normal, and I recommend you to go to hospital again and to see the doctor again and to tell him what is going on. He knows your mother as a patient and I think he would do the best for her. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Anila Skenderi
