What Causes Bottom Chest Pain After Swallowing Large Piece Of Pork?
A few days ago, I swallowed a piece of pork that was a little too large, and I quickly gulped down some water to force it down. Afterwards, I began feeling a great deal of pain at the bottom of my chest. The worst pain only lasted a few hours, but since then, I ve been feeling some pain whenever I take a deep breath, or whenever I swallow or burp. What might I have done to myself?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of swallowing a large piece if pork which apparently got stuck in the lower esophagus but you gulped same water and the problem got solved. Followed by great deal of pain in the lower chest, and whenever you take a deep breath or whenever you swallow or burp. wants to know what might have been caused to yourself. This has obviously caused the injury at the lower esophagus hence the pain and all the problems that you have mentioned. I would advise you the following: Upper GI Endoscopy to make sure the extent of injury/edema . PPI like Omeprazole Antacid every three hours. Soft bland diet and plenty of liquids orally. All the management till healing is complete. Avoid too hot and too cold things to swallow.
