Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Bowel Movement With Mucus And Paleness?
I have been pooping out a white/clear mucus with my poop. I am not sure why? I eat well and I exercise A LOT. I was wondering if it was related to my exercise? Also, my poop has been very pale lately? The past few weeks it had been a very pale tan. It wasn t until today that I noticed the white mucus-like goo attached to it.
Kindly find my advise after reviewing your query. As per my surgical experience, the bowel movement with mucus and pale color indicate inflammation with possible liver or biliary system derangement.
There can be developing jaundice or obstruction at some point in bile drainage level. It is recommended to get consultation with gastroenterologist, evaluation with ultrasound, lab tests of liver function, count and stool microscopy to get best directions of cure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
