My age 41 years, height 5.2 feet, weight 67 kg. I have asthma. I am suffering repeated cough for last three weeks. When coughing occurred I feel senseless and breathlessness. I am getting continuous production of abdominal gas. Recently I am experiencing sudden wake up from sleep due to breathlessness or suffocation.
Since you asthmatic, it is likely that the repeated coughing is related to this.
You may need to adjust your inhalers and look for any triggers such as allergies, post nasal drip etc. Your preventative inhaler may need to be adjusted upwards.
Other causes of persistent coughing are post nasal drip and gastroesophageal reflux (GERD).
I hope this helps
