Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic I would keep a likely possibility of a fungal infection/tinea. Tinea usually presents with round or annular patches with central clearing and peripheral raised rim/margin. The patches may not b perfectly round or oval. Itching is usually associated. I would suggest that you seek an appointment with a dermatologist for a confirmatory diagnosis. The diagnosis can also be confirmed by KOH preparation made from the scale to detect for fungal elements. If this comes out to be a fungal infection, you may try a topical OTC antifungal e.g clotrimazole 1% cream, twice daily. However, since the infection seems to involve a widespread area therefore it would be better to also take oral antifungals in addition to topical cream. Oral antifungals are prescription medications and I would suggest that you seek an appointment with a dermatologist for the needful. Regards
