What Causes Brittle And Pale Finger Nails Despite Using Biotin?
I have been taking Biotin to help my hair and finger nails. My hair does seem healthier but my finger nails are weak and are peeling. I have been taking the biotin for 4 to 6 months. Could the weak peeling nails be a symptom of something else? Thank you.
hi..i read ur complains carefully.if such patients come to my clinic I explain them the following things. briitle nails can be caused by the use of detergents, soaps, nail polish, nail polish removers ,glue of artificial nails, keeping the nail wet all the time like doing laundered, washing dishes frequently..other causes could be iron deficiency, hyperthyroidism and nail trauma. first off rule out all the causes. wear gloves while caring out house hold chores. apply moisturizer containing lanolin to relive dry and brittle nail. do ur investigation for iron deficiency anemia and hyperthyroidism. I would like to suggest u to visit ur dermatologist if ur problem remains the same. hope it answered ur question in case of any query don't hesitate to ask further.
