What Causes Brown Discharge During Periods?

My last period was in September. I believe it was like the the 2nd to the 6th. I have regular periods. The ending of September was weird though. I had like a brown period that lasted from the 24th to the 26th i believe. My next expected period should be tomorrow, October 4th. I have had unprotected sex in the month of September also. I believe it was the 8th, 13th & 14th. So my question to you is, why did i have that brown period?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

A brownish discharge during your cycle can be due to various reason like a hormonal imbalance, contraceptives, birth control pills you could have used after your unprotected sexual contact, stress, medications, etc. So if at al you had no contributing factors then you should visit a doctor as the cause could be related to abnormalities of the uterus, inner lining of the uterus, etc.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
