What Causes Brown Discharge In Periods?

My periods usually last for around 4 days and have a moderate flow. For 2 months now my period comes 2 days earlier than usual and is very light but with some dark coloration. It lasts for about a day and a half and turns brown throughout. I thought it might be implantation bleeding but this is the second month this has happened. I had a 29 day cycle. I have recently quit a job and have been under stress.

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. The recent change in your menstrual pattern is suggestive of a transient hormone disruption which can be seen with sudden weight changes, stress, infections, cysts on the ovaries, certain medications etc. You have to get a proper clinical appraisal, manage your life style and reduce stress, maintain adequate nutrition and use styptics to control the discharge. You may benefit from a couple of hormone courses as well, if deemed necessary by your consultant. Hope this helps.
