What Causes Brown Discharge Instead Of Period?

I have never had sex before but this is the second time this month that I have ha brown discharge. I am supposed to start my period this week but instead I am having little brown discharge. No period symptoms either. And I am somewhat irregular. What is wrong? I am really freaking out.
