What Causes Brown Discoloration And Numbness In The Fingers?

The other day I was doing my nails and most of the time when I use the glue sometimes it gets stuck to my skin. So usually I fix it by putting nail polish remover on my finger and it will go away. Or washing my hands with soap and water. But it wasn’t working. I’ve noticed throughout time that it was getting yellow and the top of my thumb was completely numb. when I looked closer and put a flashlight on it, there were like tiny tiny little brown spots in the middle of my thumb. Which I thought was weird. So I decided what if I peel off the glue. I grabbed nail clippers and clipped the part where the brown spot was. I didn’t feel a thing because it’s that part of the skin is so thick that it’s numbed up completely. After peeling some of it, I put a bandage on it and after a day the new skin that appeared after being peeled eventually got numb also. So later I found out I wasn’t peeling off glue it was just my skin. What’s very odd is that my first half of my thumb is completely numb but the other half is normal. Then I noticed on the same hand, the top of my middle finger is brown and also numb. I don’t feel a thing. So could you tell me what this is please. And what I can do about it?

Hi,

The skin of thumb and middle finger may be affected adversely by the contact of glue off and on. There may be irritation developed by chemical in glue leading to various symptoms like peeling of skin, numbness, and discolouration. There is no need to worry. Avoid the contact of glue now onwards. Apply antibiotic cream on the affected areas.

Hope this helps.
