What Causes Brown Spots On The Body And Are They Gender Specific?

Hi, I m 14 years old and I ve heard of these brown spots on your body. My friends were talking about it. They say it only goes on girls. They re not supposedly birth marks but related to sex I think. All I want to no is what specifically are they? Do they relate to sex or not?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to Hcm,
There are no skin lesions similar to what you have described which are gender specific. However in order to tell what those spots are, I would need a better description as in the location of the spots, duration of onset and how its progressed, any associated factors etc and eventually those spots have to be seen to get a confirm diagnosis. Do be assured its nothing to do with gender. Take care .
