What Causes Brown Spotting, Frequent Urination And Nausea?

My girlfriend and I are sexually active and she is having vaginal bleeding but is not on her period, I should also mention that she has been on birth control for about 8 months and her pill changed about 6 months ago. She is having frequent urges to pee but when she goes to not much comes out. She has said the bleeding is more like a think brown goo. She has also mentioned that it can be itchy but she only said it once. Now she is nauseous. What could it be? What is more likely, pregnacy or a UTI or yest infection
