What Causes Brown Vaginal Bleeding While HPT Is Negative?
i am due to start my period today last sunday i had 2 spots of light pink blood very small with several days of cramps like my period was going to start. now today im having light brown blood when i wipe after using the toilet, i took a pregnancy test i purchased from the dollar store this morning and it said negative. i have also been up very early in the morning to use the potty and i did feel a little sick to my stomach for a couple days but that and the cramps are pretty much gone now. could i still be pregnant?
Hi, In the current scenario, I would ask you to repeat the pregnancy test with a standard kit and with a fresh early morning sample of urine or better still, get an assessment of the serum beta-hCG titres as this is very sensitive and specific. Your symptoms may not be specific for pregnancy; they could as well be due to some premenstrual hormone disturbance or some mild infection of the gastro-intestinal tract. A trans-vaginal sonogram done if you get an ambiguous test result, is often helpful to clarify the situation in addition to a complete hormone profile. Hope this helps.
