What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge?

Hello.. Im 29 yrs old and a female. Im mid way between my cycle and just noticed that my discharge just changed from its normal white which it earlier was.. now its brown. Im not on any medications and have no health issues. Can you tell me if this is normal?
