What Causes Brownish Bleeding After Having Shots For Ovulation?

My daughter is going to a Fertility specialist and has taken a shot for ovulation, she is also taking a progesterone suppository. She wiped herself after going to the bathroom and noticed a little bit of brownish blood . Should she be worrying about this?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. If she is not yet expecting her period, this spotting could be a breakthrough bleed which happens when there is not enough hormone supply to balance the endometrium. An implantation bleed which can be seen at the time of the expected period is a fresh bleed, can be seen for a couple of days until a week and is not brownish, which is a result of old bleeding. In the current scenario, I would ask her to stay in bed, observe and report the matter to her health care provider. She would need a pregnancy test and a sonogram for further management. Hope this helps.
