What Causes Brownish Discharge And Back Pain During Menstruation?
My 45 year old wife has some brown discharge on her panties, almost looks like dry poop. She is also complaining of some pain on each side of her back. She is very concerned, such as I. Her periods have been very irregular and at times light or nothing. Any thoughts?
Hello, At her age, perimenopause usually sets in and this is the common cause for the irregular periods. Regular yearly check ups with a gynecologist which include a trans-vaginal sonogram and a pap smear are advisable. Her present concern also can be addressed with a clinical evaluation by an expert. This discharge can be either from the vagina or from the urethra or some discharge from the anus. Only a local examination can help to clarify. Urinalysis also is needed along with sonogram to identify the cause of the pain. Hope this helps.
