What Causes Brownish Discharge And Pregnancy Test To Be Negative?
I am 18 years old and I ovulated between 2nd-7th July and during that time I was having alot of unprotected sex as we are ttc. A week later on the 13th i noticed slight spotting which was a pinkish colour,then it stopped and today ive noticed a bit of browish discharge. My period is due on Wednesday 20th July, I have taken two hpt but both came back negative. is it too early to find out if i am pregnant or could it be something else? help please! its so confusing.

The chances of conception are pretty good since you followed the fertile period rule. The spotting could mean anything from a breakthrough bleed or an early implantation bleed. The brown discharge suggests old bleeding. To know for sure, you should get an estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres as they are sensitive and specific. A trans-vaginal sonogram helps to know the status of the pelvic organs. HPTs do not read well until 3-7 days after the missed period. Hope this helps.
