What Causes Brownish Semen Discolouration?

Hi..I had brown colored sperm , was tested by a urologist, told I had klebsiella. Treated, the organism wasn t present in later tests. I am a monogamous (36 years) married to a monogamous female. Dr. told me I could have picked it up in the health spa hot water whirlpool (community pool) where I swim. Is this a logical explanation? This was several months ago..and my ejaculate seems slightly yellow now after being clear. Thanks

Hi,

Yes, as your doctor said you could have got infection from external source, using public toilet or unhygienic sexual method can also cause this issue it can be from both the partner.

As you said you are monogamous you external non-sexually pick up of infection is the only option.

Starting appropriate antibiotics will help you. Both you and your partner need to take the meds to gather to prevent cross infection and no sexual activity for 10 days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. S.R.Raveendran, Sexologist
