What Causes Brownish Vaginal Spotting During 12 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

Hi! I m 12 weeks pregnant tomorrow and have a 7cm uterine fibroid and also a UTI (which I just took the last macrobid for). Recently I have been spotting brown on and off throughout the day which sometimes looks light pinkish. I have also recently noticed flesh colored tissue (which also has a little pink inside) at times when I urinate. I have been to the ER and also my OB (as of 3 days ago) and everything seems fine with the baby. What can this tissue like material be? Thank you!

Hi,

I can understand your concerns.

The commonest cause of pinkish brown vaginal spotting is threatened abortion.

Though your baby is fine now it might be bleeding and shedding tissues from the placenta.

This causes passage of pink or brown spots or flesh colored tissue.

Have you undergone an ultrasound recently.

I will advise you to get it done and let us know the report.

Regards,
