What Causes Bruised And Painful Knee?

Hi, I fell from the bus 6 days back . I have bruises in my right knee. Intially I have swelling in the right knee. Now there is no swelling at all. But i have pain in the knee. Pain is more around the bruise. I am able to walk but get pain after some time. Could it be a ligament tear or just pain due to bruises?
