My husband is 50yrs old. Years ago he was diagnosed with hepatitis and treated for it years ago before we met. He is a drinker on average a beer a day. Over the last few months I noticed his socks have been leaving marks on his legs. Look like red rings and today I noticed great big bruises that reseamble hickey marks. I asked him about them and he said its his socks. I am worried this might be related. Can uou tell me what would cause this
Hi. As per your case history your husband is having purpuric rash. My treatment advice is - 1. Take good nutritious diet full of green leafy vegetables and milk. 2. Take a vitamin c supplement once daily for 3 months. 3. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily. 4. Other treatment options are oral calcium dobisilate, multivitamins taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
