What Causes Bruising Along The Butt With Pain In Tail Bone?

Hi, I have had pain in my tail bone area for about 6 months. I ve received a steroid shot at a pain center. It really didn t alleviate the pain and I m scheduled to have a second shot this month. The pain is awful and my husband has noticed bruising (not from the shot) along (no nice way of saying this) the crack of my butt. Any idea at all what s going on with me?

Read and reviewed your query and health concerns.
You seems to suffer from-mostly -PID with Coccydinia.
Steroid does not seem to be answer in your case.
You need to investigate to rule out other causes with a team of doctors as suggested below.
Other causes-as sacroilitis,pilonidal cyst/fractured coccyx from fall on buttocks, and many reasons in tissues around the coccyx and anus.
Second opinion and checks from a team of doctors Gynec,Surgeon,NeuroSurgeon would resolve the issue by proper diagnosis and treatment plans in your case.
Hope this would help you to plan further care of this complex illness of yours.
