What Causes Bruising In Child's Ear After Getting Hurt?

Hi, my son got hurt from a swing in park and has hurt his ear. there is no bleeding and small portion of ear has become blue which is also healing by applying soframycin. Is there anything searious that might have happened as there is a very minor scratch which has also healed?

Hi,

Thanks for your question. It sounds as if your son had a haematoma or bruise on his ear. If there is a significant localized swelling then this may need to be dealt with to avoid damage to the cartilage of the ear. If it is simply a bruise then it should improve with time.

I hope this answers you question.

Best wishes
