Hi I just came back from my doctor, my dentist noticed on my lower left side of my neck it bulged out when i talked or used my neck muscles. it is not hard and i never noticed i have no pain. she ordered a ct scan should i be nervous? what could it be

I can understand your concern.
From your description it may be a thyroid nodule or a cervical lymph node.
An ultrasound of the thyroid gland is important and would give information regarding its position, dimensions and other characteristics.
Thyroid nodules are a common finding in the normal population and they result to be malignant only in 5% of cases.
